A Fixture Profile is necessary to use a Tracking Light Fixture.
The Fixture Profile contains the DMX patch and physical parameter to receive/drive a light fixture.
Device
It´s possible to define here some informations about the fixture.
!The “Total Channel” needs to be equal to the max. amount of DMX channels from the specific light fixture.
Independently how many channels should be “used” from SP, this value needs to be the max. channel from the choosen mode.
Please check the DMX protocol sheet from the manufactor.
If this value dosn´t match, the Tracking Light Fixture will not work properly.
Parameter
This settings defines the parameter, specify the addresses and ranges as well as the physical parameter of a fixture.
The red line, left to the a parameter container as well as the addional desaturated icon, shows that this parameter will not be used within this Fixture Profile.
To activcate this, simply click on the desaturated icon.
Each parameter can have the following channel resolution options:
Mode |
DMX channels |
max. DMX range |
8bit |
used 1 DMX channel |
0-255 |
16bit |
used 2 DMX channels |
0-65535 |
24bit |
used 3 DMX channels |
0-16777215 |
32bit |
used 4 DMX channels |
0-4294967295 |
*For some parameter it´s necessary to define the range manualy.
Example:
A 16bit Iris parameter used only for the first 75% the linear Iris from close to open.
The rest 25% are Iris macro effects…
That means, that we need to define the range 16bit 0-65535 to 0-75% means 0-49151.
The “Channel Address” defines always the “start address” of this specific parameter, independently if this is a 8bit or 32bit parameter.
Dimmer
set the resolution and DMX channel address for the Dimmer
Pan
set the resolution and DMX channel address for the Pan
!The “Physical Pan” range needs to match with the specs of the light fixture.
*Chek the direction of the Pan parameter, if this is not matching, use the invert checkbox.
Tilt
!The “Physical Tilt” range needs to match with the specs of the light fixture.
*Chek the direction of the Tilt parameter, if this is not matching, use the invert checkbox.
Zoom
!The “Physical Zoom” range needs to match with the specs of the light fixture if the auto zoom mode should be used.
*Chek the direction of the Zoom parameter, if this is inverted, swap the values for min/max.
Focus
*Check the DMX ranges, so that the fixture not run into any macro effects.
Iris
*Check the DMX ranges, so that the fixture not run into any macro effects.
Color

Templates
Templates can define different values for specific DMX channels.
*DMX values defined in the template will overwrite also the incoming DMX values if this template is active within the Tracking Light Fixture.
*Templates should also be used for all default parameters/values if there is no addional lighting desk sending DMX into SP.
Example Template – Highlight
*The namer of a parameter within a template can be renamed with a double click on the name.
